THE ATTACK OF THE DOUBLE CHINS!
I'm suffering from THE "Double Chin" Syndrome at the moment. Due to the fantastic food here in Australia and the continuous excuses i've been giving myself "It's OK coz I'm on HOLIDAY!" does not really help much.
Did i mention that I've been cooking and cleaning and vacuuming while i was out here in Australia??? I know some "people" are raising their eyebrows rite about now as they're reading this... *cough*zai*cough* LOL! But seriously, i have. Since i got my own apartment and living with Mei Lin who is a clean freak... lol... i gotta do something. But i still have yet to learn how the Washing Machine works. Oh... and i actually made me & Mei Lin this delicious Black Pepper Steak! I actually did... can u believe it?? I even got a picture of it but i can't upload it now since i'm using the school's computer but i will when i get home. And Mei Lin loved it! She asked me to make another steak again this week. Hehehe!
Today I start my first day of attachment at Spurway Nursing Home @ Murumbeena, Melbourne. Man... I've never seen such a luxurious old folks home before. And their food certainly beat our crappy hospital food back home in Singapore.
And gosh... working here in Australia is too damn relaxing! I work like 4 hours and my tea time and lunch break goes on for the next 5 hours. I seriously have NOTHING to do. But the old folks there are lovely. There's quite a number of POW survivors from Germany, Latvia, Poland. And they're telling me all these stories about their experiences during the war. Pretty interesting. There's so many different characters i encountered. And did i mention i love working with elderly? I think they're just adorable and warm.
Last Saturday, all 4 of us made a trip down to Victoria Market. Gosh... this place is just a shopping haven. They got so many Factory Outlets and most of the stuffs are sooo cheap! Well, not THAT cheap but still affordable coz everywhere else here are so expensive. It kinda remind me of our "Bazaar Geylang" during Ramadan except cooler atmosphere and you don't sweat at all. LOL! I'm going back there again this Friday and explore every corner there is coz it's freaking huge. And i love their wet market... it's not as wet & disgusting as ours back home of course. It's really clean and they nicely laid out all the fruits in carts... all fresh! It looked just like in the movies. It's Gorgeous!
Oh man... i could seriously go on forever but i gotta go. Besides, my darling boyfriend just got online to chat with me. I miss my boo so much only God knows!

G'day my lovely sweethearts!
Haha! I'm getting hooked with these Australian accents really. It's kinda infectious when you think about it.
The sun is almost setting here in Melbourne. Had a photoshoot today for Melbourne's Local News Paper. Apparently, we'll be appearing in the news papers so i'm gonna get my copy once it's published. So far, the school and our lecturers here in Melbourne have been very excited about our visit and they've been giving us such warm welcomes. We had Mud Cakes after classes for both theory & practical.
Yesterday, was Australia's public holiday ANZAC DAY. It was a memorial day for the war veterans. So Connie, Mei Lin, Vic & me... met our lecturers Frances & Jenny and also our Buddies-- Laura, Sonia, Katrina & Tom, under the clock at Flinder's Street to watch the March Parade. It was a fun experience and Flinder's Street was beautiful. We went snap-shots crazy there.
After the parade, we took a ferry ride to William's Town. Oh my goodness... i felt like i was on a movie set of a Country film. The shophouses look so adorable & classic. We then had lunch by the park. Jenny & Frances treat us to the MOST DELICIOUS FISH & CHIPS i've ever eaten in my entire life. The Fish fillet was so fresh and huge!
Then we had ice cream at the "Ice Cream Shop" (Duh!) LOL! They have the largest amount of ice cream flavours in Australia. So i tried "Choc Rippled Cookie". Oh my god! This ice cream is just to die for... it's better than our normal boring Cookies & Cream or Cookie Dough.
I must mention that all my 4 Buddies are a whole lot of fun and they're so enthusiastic to bring us around the City. They pratically play tour guide to all of us. They're just amazing. I really hope that they'll be the group to come down to Singapore for the Student Exchange.
I'm excited for this Saturday coz it's one of my Buddies, Laura's 21st Birthday, and she invited us all to her party. So we'll get to see how the Aussies party around here.
I had a Bird sh*t on me a few days ago. Me & Mei Lin was happily taking pictures under the trees coz i never knew that i had this fascination with trees till i came here coz they're absolutely gorgeous. Especially now since it's autumn season so the leaves are yellow and orange... and the ground was filled with them. So anyway, people say that when a Bird crap on you... it means that Good Luck is coming your way. So i wonder what would mine be.

Yes, I'm in Melbourne rite now. I'm writing this blog from the college that i'm currently studying. I'm in the library coz we couldn't get any internet connection in our apartment. And sadly, this computer doesn't allow any msn. I miss chatting to my friends online.
OH MY GOD! Melbourne is sooo beautiful. I'm crazy about the brick houses here. They look amazing. Very cozy feeling. And oh my god... i was screaming when i saw our apartments. We have the entire apartment to ourselves. Me and Mei Lin shared an apartment and we have our own rooms.
Our whole apartment are fully furnished with 2 sofas, 29 inch TV, a DVD & VCR combo player, a washing machine and WE HAVE A DRYER!! Our bedroom have a huge wardrobe, dressing table, study table, nicely made bed with towels and a bar of soap. Our kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and cutleries and there's bread, eggs, butter, milk in the fridge. And every single stuffs i mentioned earlier are all BRAND NEW! And on top of it all, each one of us got a special Gift Card worth AUS$50 for us to spend. So last nite, i used it to buy groceries at Safeway Supermarket. I indulged on Sara Lee's Rocky Road ice cream which is just heavenly.
And yesterday, all 4 of us went to venture the City. We took the train and all of us fell asleep coz we're exhausted from the 7 hours flight. Oh my god... the flight... i just had to side track a bit... the movies on the flight are incredible... they have so many latest movies like from Freedom Writers to Dreamgirls, from Babel to Departed. I'm digging Qantas.
Anyway, so we fell asleep on the train and missed our stop. But we managed to get to the City. We walked around a little bit and I was so surprised how cheap the Nivea products are here. I bought the Nivea Cellulite Lotion for only AUS$7.80 = SG$9.75. The last i checked that lotion in Watson in Singapore, it cost $30 plus.
But one of the most shocking thing is that ONE Colgate toothpaste here cost a whopping AUS$8 = SG$10.90!!!! Can you imagine??? And for us back home we can get Colgate at the One Dollar Shop even. LOL!
Well, my time is running out now. I will try to come back and update more often. Goobye mate!

Wow... tomorrow is the day. I'm actually going to Melbourne for my Student Exchange Program and Clinical Posting. A little hard to believe but i'm pretty cool about it.
I just finished packing. Over-Packed in fact! So i'm gonna unpack again later and try to leave some space for my shopping items.
I have alot of things to tell... but i guess it's better left untold for now. Coz i'm just so lazy to type it all... Till i find the time, toodles everyone.

I know i am supposed to be updating my blog these days. I was supposed to be writing about my Desaru trip... but a few mishaps that's been happening in my life rite now just delayed my intentions.
You know, there are days when you just wanna hide out from the rest of the world and just stay in an enclosed space just so at that very moment you will feel safe and free from all the problems you have.
That is the phase i'm going through at that moment. But mark my words... it's ONLY "at the moment". I know i will get through this. And i'm glad i'm not the cry baby i used to be. I guess, i just remind myself of things that i'm blessed with and grateful for every single day now.
I'm truly blessed coz not only i have my family... i also have the love of my life who's always there to give me that emotional support despite being miles and miles away from me. In fact, we're on the different side of the world.
But it was nice when I am at my utmost point of breaking down, love was just a phone call away. I know he was exhausted after a long day but he stayed up just to do one simple thing... to Listen. And not only that was enough, he still gave me encouragement and share his wisdom. We talked for hours and when he whispered those 3 words to me... i just knew that everything will be ok. Everything will be alright. I just know it. I can feel it in my guts.
It was a nice feeling to know that someone out there believes in you and have that much faith in you. It gives you that will to carry on and a future to look forward to... and somehow you just know it will be bright. You're just not there yet. But you will get there.

- My father called me this morning. It is so nice to hear his voice.
